About the
Position
Hostopia's
Solutions Engineer must have a broad expertise and unique knowledge of all
company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and
effective ways. The Solutions Engineer is responsible for identifying and
matching sales and technology opportunities with Hostopia's potential and
existing partner bases business issues and objectives. Assist
the business development team to achieve or exceeds revenue targets by
providing quality pre-sales technical support and presentations focused on
articulating value to the prospective buyer.
Responsibilities
·
Using professional concepts in providing
pre-sales technical support to business development team members
·
Leverages product knowledge, in the areas of
product demonstrations, proof of concepts, system design, migration overviews
and training/education during the pre-sales process, overcoming objections,
displaying integration proof of concepts to close sales deals
·
Responsible for the majority of the aspects of
the technical sales process
·
Conduct product/service demonstrations and
technical presentations remotely or at existing/potential partner locations
including – WebhostOS and WebsiteOS
·
Prepare any necessary collateral for
migration/implementation overviews
·
Assistance to respond to RFP/SOW where
applicable
·
Define/communicate implementation/migration
strategies/solution paths with Project Management team
·
Works to overcome issues that impact
designs/selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies
·
Capture non-standard contract/project
requirements
·
Provide post-sales support to the Project
Management team for Strategic level partnerships/complex projects
·
Assist Sales/Marketing as a subject matter
expert concerning topics such as E-Mail, Web, Migrations, Email Migrations,
application offerings, implementations, API integration, system design
·
Keep current with Project Management, project
plans, SOWs, partner facing collateral, standard practices and procedures
·
Remain involved with the Project Management team
and current project initiatives/status through pre and post-sales
·
Define booking process/timing for meeting
attendance/pre-sales work required
·
Responsible for setting up demo accounts
Qualifications
and Requirements
·
Experienced ability to develop and maintain
relationships with all team resources within Hostopia including the following
departments: Technology, Sales/Marketing, Project/Service Management, Technical
Support, Accounting
·
Demonstrated knowledge of technical sales techniques
and processes including the ability to understand needs, overcome objections,
assist in the development of business cases and technically close deals
·
Broad understanding of competitive existing and
emerging products and technologies
·
Ability to articulate and understand the
potential/existing partners strategies and Hostopia's solution strategies to a
technical level of detail for effective market launch
·
Ability to defuse complicated technical and political
situations with prospective/existing partners
·
Must be flexible, dependable and capable of quickly
learning new strategies and technology directions of various projects.
·
Must
be prepared for extensive travel (50% to 70% traveling). Local, National, and International travel to
prospective and current partner sites in support of pre sales efforts is required.
