EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Aug. 30 (UPI) --

Dane Richards scored for the New York Red Bulls in a 1-0 Major League Soccer victory Sunday over the Columbus Crew.

Richards fired a shot past Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum, the ball entering the net just inside the left post.

The Red Bulls (4-16-4) next take on Kansas City Sept. 12. Columbus (10-4-9) will go against Houston Sept. 13.
