Sin Chew Daily Malaysia reported that for the first time, Hong Kong singer-actor Andy Lau has come forward to deny that he would marry Malaysian Carol Chu at the end of this month. "No such thing. Veteran Hong Kong actor-singer Andy Lau has apologized for lying about his marriage, saying he behaved inappropriately for a public figure. Lau denied that he was married in an interview with Hong Kong's Cable TV in February, but Hong Kong journalists last week discovered marriage records from the Clark County Recorder's Office in the U.S. state of Nevada that the 47-year-old star had wed Malaysian girlfriend Carol Chu in June 2008. Heavenly King Andy Lau is well known for his professionalism but Taiwanese popular variety host Hu Gua would seem to differ. Hu said Lau was one-and-a-half hours late for his guest appearance on the show. The producer of the programme advised Hu to stay calm and made an exaggerated promise to tear down the studio if Lau did not appear by 8pm. "I thought he was just kidding!
