A 1984 Michael Jackson portrait by pop-art icon Andy Warhol surpassed estimates to fetch 812,500 dollars at auction on Tuesday, but two headline pieces at the Christie's sale in New York flopped. An Andy Warhol painting called "200 One Dollar Bills" has sold at auction for $43.8 million, more than three times its highest presale estimate of $12 million. The silk-screen painting sold at Sotheby's on Wednesday evening. The names of the buyer and seller were not disclosed. Sotheby's is auctioning a self-portrait by Andy Warhol that was recently found after being forgotten in a closet in New York City for more than 40 years. The painting belongs to Cathy Naso.
