Andy Warhol's portrait of Elvis Presley depicted as a cowboy with a silver background, "Double Elvis [Ferus Type]," sold for $37 million on May 9, 2012. The silkscreen image, estimated to be worth $30 million to $50 million, was first displayed in Los Angeles' Ferus Gallery in 1963. It was the first "Double" Elvis to appear on the market since 1995 out of the 22 images Warhol created of Elvis.
