Angela Evelyn Bassett (born August 16, 1958) is an Emmy- and Academy Award -nominated, and Golden Globe -winning American actress . She has become well-known for her biographical film roles portraying women in American culture, perhaps most prominently as singer Tina Turner in the motion picture What's Love Got to Do with It .On April 28, 2008, it was announced that Bassett would join the regular cast of the medical drama series ER for the show's final season.
