A convicted murderer may get the death penalty in the case of
Angelia Headrick, a 17-year-old cheerleader who was murdered in 2007 and put into the trunk of her car before it was set on fire. 23-year-old
Eric Rogdriguez was one of three men who confessed to killing Headrick.
Rodriguez at his trial (Ledger)Rodgriguez, who denied any involvement in the murder earlier in the investigation and then claimed he was intimidated into a false confession, was convicted by jurors yesterday. On Tuesday the same jurors will return to deliberate on the death penalty.
According to
Fox news, one of the other men involved accepted a plea deal of 15 years for his testimony and the other has yet to stand trial. Headrick was running her boyfriend's drug selling business while he was in jail. The three men robbed her of $500 dollars, cocaine and marijuana before killing her.
