The Thrill Is GONE

Just because I don’t actively promote the television show Rizzoli and Isles doesn’t mean that I don’t watch the show. However, this is Season 2 and this faux lesbian thing is really tired.

Sure in season 1, the imaginary flirting was amusing, but since this is a series and considering how American Television abhors character development in teleplays, dragging this “fake-lesbian” story arc out is preposterous, and momentarily inserting various “one-episode” male love interests also does nothing but prolong a lesbian viewer’s misery.

Let’s NOT mention Angie Harmon’s “Cutesy” pandering to the audience. Now I realize this show has a warming effect (especially if one is: “Bed-Bound” with the FLU). However for the majority of viewers what happens on this show insults even the most predictable of story arcs.

In last week’s episode Jane Rizzoli has an ingrown toenail that she behaves all butch: (I don’t need your help) over, while limping around and finally instead of taking her (real life lesbian hating) ass to the hospital, she uses the toe to barge in on her fake love interest’s (Dr. Isles') date with her fugitive doctor boyfriend.

Really? BASTA, Enough! Either Kiss or call it a day. A straight guy wouldn’t tolerate 2 years of being “Teased” by a woman he is interested in, but if one is a lesbian woman we are not only infantilized regularly by being referred to as “girls” by both straight and lesbian media. We are also expected to embrace this adolescent identity. I haven’t been called a “Girl” in years and am steadily deflecting the moniker of “Ma’am” (Are they serious?).

Well, I am Serious, one can be a vibrant emotionally mature individual and not be into bullshit. It’s about being real in life.
