Angus & Julia Stone are an Australian brother-sister duo from Newport on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

While their intimate folk music is anchored by the band's namesake siblings, percussionist Mitch Connelly and bassist Clay McDonald have added their own contributions to the mix. The Stone siblings were schooled in music at an early age by their father, who played in a local cover band. In 2005, Julia convinced Angus to test his musical talents by performing locally, and he responded by bringing her onstage with him as a backing musician.

With their mix of vocal harmony, acoustic guitars and brushed percussion, Angus & Julia Stone recall the lush, cuddle-up-in-bed indie folk of an earlier time. Their music's strength comes primarily from the strength of their songwriting; both approaching love and coming-of-age issues from their own gendered perspectives.
