Animal Friends Around the World - Photos and Anecdotes

This post has little to do with writing, websites, or anything else related to my internet activities. Instead it's a little glimpse into my family. My family loves animals, that's obvious to anyone who visits our house within a very short time. Today was a very bad day! I think I knew something was up, but it was too late.....Mom grabbed me and put me in my cat carrier, and put me in the car. I think I mentioned that Daddy Len is a pilot. Well, he just got back from Mexico and boy did he have a story for me! Today I would like to introduce you to two new friends of mine. These pictures were sent to me by my mom's sister and my cousin Jacob who live in Turlock, California. This first picture is of a beautiful peacock. He has brightly colored blue and green feathers. I like him a lot, because he is a birdie, and as you know, I LOVE birdies. Here is another animal that mom saw at the Ft. Worth Zoo. Flamingos! There were a few different types at the zoo, and this orange/pink one is an American flamingo. This kind is the tallest flamingo found in the Americas. The Chilean flamingo is another kind of flamingo which can be identified by it's lighter coloring.
