(Getty Images | Inset from rollingstone.com)It's one thing to have a show packed with kinky vampires doing kinky vampire things on a paid cable channel. It's another thing all together to drench
Anna Paquin in fake blood and sandwich her between
Alexander Skarsgard and
Stephen Moyer on the cover of
Rolling Stone.

In the latest sign that vampire sex is becoming less a thing that
True Blood is known for and more like
the thing that
True Blood is known for, the three players in the show's most prominent love triangle posed for
Rolling Stone in what can only be described as a naked blood bath. It's either a fang too far or just another sign of the show's dominating awesomeness depending on your taste in television. But at least
Rolling Stone can't be accused of false advertising by playing the cover for shock value.
In a
tease on rollingstone.com, show creator
Alan Ball explains why sex is the reason
True Blood rulez and
Twilight droolz: "To me, vampires are sex. I don't get a vampire story about abstinence. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed."
The more-attractive Stephen Moyer joins in with this sexplanation: "If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn't one before. It's a de-virginization — breaking the hymen, creating blood and then drinking the virginal blood. And there's something sharp, the fang, which is probing and penetrating and moving into it. So that's pretty sexy. I think that makes vampires attractive."
Wow. Just Wow.
