"The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out," she tells the magazine. "Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?"

Anne says that ultimately, Episcopalianism didn't work out for her either. The young actress who appears in both this weekend's Valentine's Day and next month's Alice in Wonderland, is still working on her spiritual side. When asked what she is now, she replies: "I'm nothing. F--- it, I'm forming. I'm a work in progress."

Anne Hathaway has been an outspoken advocate of gay rights in the past. Last January, she used a red carpet interview to question President Barack Obama's decision to invite pastor Rick Warren to give his inaugural invocation. And in late 2008, the actress auctioned herself off for $12,000 to raise money for the Trevor Project, a crisis hotline for LGBT youth.
