Last week, we learned that NBC was considering early launches for a couple of series, likely aiming to make good use on the post-Olympics space on the schedule leading into the fall season. Among the mentioned shows was Save Me, a new comedy starring Anne Heche. While the series was was technically still in the pilot phase at that time, the fact that NBC was already looking for a place to park the show suggested very good odds for the project...  

NBC has picked up its second new comedy series, without having picked up any of its seven comedy series on the bubble, thereby creating the fear we just planted in your heads right now that the network might entirely clean house and start over.
