Representative Anthony Weiner held a press conference yesterday about sexting and sending ladies who weren't his wife lewd pictures. During the speech, he admitted that he'd lied and tried to cover up his online activities, because he was "embarrassed" of his actions. During his press conference in NYC, he said that he hadn't had sex with or even met any of the women he'd been communicating with on the Internet, and that he and his wife of 11 months, Huma Abedin, would not be splitting over the scandal.
So far a few women have come forward about their dalliances with the politician, and in light of all the news, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi has formally requested an ethics committee investigation over his actions. The inquiry would evaluate whether he'd used "official resources" in maintaining the relationships with these women.
Weiner said he welcomed an investigation and hadn't broken any House rules in his extracurricular activities.
