Remove hate messaging from pride parade, B’nai Brith demands, otherwise carry on with the vulgar displays of public nudity
Cause that's celebratin diversity....
TORONTO - "B’nai Brith Canada has contacted the organizers of Toronto’s Pride Parade to protest the inclusion of an Israel Apartheid banner promoting hatred against the Jewish State. The Jewish human rights organization has also called on organizers to reject this hate-filled messaging by taking concrete steps to ensure that such banners do not form part and parcel of next year’s parade.
“Toronto’s Pride Parade is a rallying event for Ontarians who turn out in great numbers to celebrate the city’s diversity and to demonstrate their support for an anti-racism agenda,” said Frank Dimant, B’nai Brith Canada’s executive vice president. “It is a disservice to these participants to then be confronted with disparaging signage intended to de-legitimize the Jewish state and which promotes hatred against its supporters at home and abroad."
...
Talk about mixed messaging & mixed feelings, this is one where you hope both sides lose. Diversity has a very broad or should that be odd meaning to B'nai Brith it would seem. Yo Frankie, FYI, I doubt an "anti-racism" agenda is what draws the crowds to these gigs.
Content warning:
Here's an example of the diversity Frankie "Goes to Hollywood" Dimant wants you to celebrate and which he clearly has no issue with at pride 2008.
Update: Darcy has a photo of the offending CUPE banner. As Darcy notes, Do these idiots not know what happens to gay people in Islamic states?
