One of the biggest skin problems faced by the people today is skin aging. There are many reasons- both internal and external- which results in skin aging. Some of the internal factors are the reduction in the moisture retention capacity of the skin, decline in the production of elastin, decrease in the creation of fresh skin-cells etc. the external factors basically comprise of the living conditions of the individual for example: drinking, smoking, sun exposure, diet and exercise etc. There are various natural ways of anti aging skin care. They include therapeutic ayurvedic remedies as well prevention techniques that can be applied on a day-to-day basis.

Anti aging skin care can be extremely simple if the following tips are followed.

  1. Try not to wash your skin more than twice in a day. This is because water has chlorine which can strip the skin of its natural oils and hence make it dry and brittle.
  2. Wear a suitably powerful sun block everyday, even when you are in the house as excess exposure to the sun is the main reason of premature skin aging.
  3. Do not smoke or drink in excess. Nicotine and alcohol have the capacity to reverse the anti aging skin care that you perform.
  4. Get adequate sleep as the body carries out its rejuvenating activities during that period.
  5. Follow a nightly anti aging skin care regimen. Apply all your creams and lotions at least one hour before you sleep so as to let them sink in the skin. Also do not sleep with any make up on your face as it hinders the anti aging process.
  6. Lastly exercise on a regular basis. This increases the blood flow and hence increases the flow of oxygen in the body.

The best anti aging skin care remedy is eating raw and organic fruits and vegetables. These vegetables can directly reverse the aging process and keep us fit and healthy. These anti aging foods include raw fruits, vegetables, sprouts, nuts, oils, spices, seeds etc. organic food has proved to not only reduce weight and improve skin color and texture but also to beat life threatening diseases. People have regained their original hair color by just eating raw vegetables and fruits. All these are indicators that healthy food can really affect the skin aging process.

There are many ayurvedic remedies available too to counter skin aging. According to ayurveda, skin aging is caused because of the provocation of vata dosha which leads to increase in age. The great saints of old came up with many methods for anti aging skin care. Some of them are given below:

  • Before going to bed, massage your skin with ghee, olive oil, almond oil or coconut oil.
  • Apply fresh cream or yogurt on your face in the morning before taking a bath.
  • Fresh aloe Vera gel is considered to be great for skin. Apply it on a daily basis.
  • Use fresh fruits as face packs. Grated cucumber is also advantageous for the skin so include that in your face pack too.
