The Indianapolis Colts have
signed running back Dominic Rhodes according to Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star. Rhodes played in the UFL this season, leading the league in rushing touchdowns with the Florida Tuskers.
For the first time ever the Colts have had Addai, Rhodes, and James, but this time James is Javarris James, the cousin of Colts legend Edgerrin James. The Colts also have Donald Brown, Mike Hart, and Joique Bell.
It would be very strange for the Colts to keep six running backs on their active roster, so they will probably place either Addai, Brown, or Hart on injured reserve or waive Joique Bell, who has not seen any action on offense.
Wilson reports that the Colts have not confirmed the move, but he hears otherwise. The Colts, or Rhodes, will have to pay the UFL's $25,000 transfer fee to sign with the team. Rhodes might also return kicks, with Justin Tryon having a more important role with Kelvin Hayden and Jerraud Powers out.
More Florida Tuskers are on NFL rosters than any other team in the UFL. Rhodes joins Eric Moore, Maurice Price, J Leman, and James Develin as Tuskers on NFL rosters.
