Colts Place Jerraurd Powers On IR
Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Indianapolis Colts have placed cornerback Jerraud Powers on injured reserve. The Colts signed running back Dominic Rhodes with Powers' roster spot.
Justin Tryon will start for Powers until Kelvin Hayden returns, then Jacob Lacey will start. Powers underwent surgery this morning to insert six screws and a plate in his right forearm. The Colts waited until after the surgery to place him on IR.
Powers has quietly played better this season that the veteran Hayden, especially early in the season. There was some speculation that the Colts might keep Powers on the roster so he can play in the playoffs - if the Colts make it there.
