Hope not Hate

Hope not Hate is an anti-fascism and anti-racism campaign in the United Kingdom organised by the group Searchlight . The group have campaigned against theBritish National Party and have presented a 90,000 person petition to the European Parliament protesting against the election of Nick Griffin to the European Parliament. An annual event is the Hope not Hate bus tour which aims to combat racism.

Celebrity supporters of Hope Not Hate include Sir Alan Sugar, Amir Khan and Eddie Izzard. In 2009 Hope not Hate called for the resignation of BBC Strictly Come Dancing dancer Anton Du Beke after he stated that his dancing partner "looked like a Paki". Du Beke apologised for the remark and stated that it had been in jest. Hope Not Hate campaign for people to vote for any party other than the British National Party.
