The Bengals official site updated the status of some injured players today: The team is practicing in shoulder pads and helmets. Linebackers Brandon Johnson and Rey Maualuga are back but working out lightly and don’t look for them in Friday’s preseason opener in New Orleans. In fact, Johnson indicated he wouldn’t play. Also expected out for Friday are wide receiver Antonio Chatman (sprained ankle) and rookie defensive tackle Pernell Phillips (groin). No timetables were given, but Chatman looks to have a severe enough sprain that he could be out three weeks after injuring it Friday in the scrimmage. Read Full Story
