“We wouldn’t say we’re unstoppable, but our mindset is extreme at this point. We’re not going to be denied. … I might be a little biased, but in our minds, we can’t be beat,” said Rolle on Monday. “We’re extremely confident and we’ve given ourselves the reasons to feel that way. We have to continue to give ourselves those reasons, and we will. We have no doubts. It’s right there at the tip of our tongues (probably meant fingers not tongues).”
Rolle insists that the Giants are ready to play anyone and will compete at a high level.
“It don’t matter who we play. You can put an All-Star team in front of us, and we’re going to go out there and compete,” Rolle said. “We don’t fold. No matter what happens, if there’s a bad call, or things aren’t going our way, we’re not going to break.
“We’re not going to lose focus on what’s at stake and our ultimate goal.”
The Giants are aware that this week’s NFC Championship game against the 49ers won’t be easy.
“It’s not going to be easy, I’m telling you,” guard Chris Snee said. “That’s as good a defense as we’ve seen all year, if not the best… I had a feeling at some point we’d see them again.”
Rolle and the Giants defense were impressed with how 49ers quarterback Alex Smith played against the Saints this past Saturday.
“They weren’t playing against the Giants, but yeah, it was a good game,” Rolle said.
