For optimum performance replace filter twice a season. Customer Review: Sub-standard replacement filter This filter is not a genuie Kenmore filter but rather an no name brand replacement. The filter did not wick the water as good as a genuine Kenmore filter nor did it last as long. It virtually stopped wicking after about a month of use while I got a full season of use out of a Kenmore filter in a second humidifier that I have.
