The history of April Fools Day has been argued and debated since the beginning of time. Actually, only since 1582. That was the year King Charles IX of France, decided to change the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar.That basically meant instead of having the new year start on April 1st, it would start on January 1st. At the time, it was difficult to inform everyone about this drastic change in the calendar. Spaghetti - it's what's for our dinner tonight. I'll pick some spaghetti off of our Swiss Spaghetti Tree and then probably do some kind of meat sauce. My trick is to doctor up a jar of canned sauce with a can of whole tomatoes, some olive oil sauteed peppers and onions, some fresh sage, red pepper flakes and a handful of parmesan cheese. Then I throw in the meat (usually chicken or browned ground beef). No one knows that I didn't slave all day over the stove to make the "home made sauce" but me .
