Having a lot of fun with the health game...so far, we have jumped three feet, caught a ball, and today we are hula hooping! The kids are doing a fabulous job and we are really pleased. We had 13 children who could hula hoop. Kayla was our all star for the hoop! Tomorrow we are thinking of hopscotching...Today our first food awareness lesson was on milk as brain food. Our theme for the week is "Don't let an opportunity for brain food go by...  

The Rockport Recreation Department is highlighting the art and exercise of hula hooping in January and February, and will provide hula hoops in their classes. Monday evening classes for adults, "Adult Hula Hoop Dance and Workout Class," are held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Rockport Community House, and use weighted hula hoops combined with workout routines, tricks and dance moves. These classes run until Feb. 6.  

The Hula Hoop is not just child's play. Now it's part of a new exercise class for adults. Lehigh Carbon Community College is offering some fun, new non-credit community education courses.  Some of those include Hula Hoop Exercise, Homebrewing 101, and Trompe L'Oeil. These classes are open to anyone and are at a variety of differnt times. LCCC will have an open house where you can learn more about a number of their new non-credit courses...
