On June 14th she attended Apollo Theater's Benefit Concert & Awards Ceremony in the exact same dress and accessories. ...though she did bother to switch out her wig...Read Full Story

By disgrasian on  From disgrasian.com
Luke Song, the hatmaker who designed Aretha Franklin’s infamous Inauguration Day hat, is suing several firms he’d previously done business with who’ve copied and sold the hat without his permission. In the federal lawsuit he filed last week, Song alleged: Moza’s hat worn by Aretha Franklin (hereinafter the “Original Inauguration Hat”) gained instantaneous fame and notoriety, attracting much more media attention than even Aretha Franklin’s performance itself. The Original Inauguration Hat has...Read Full Story

Aretha wants royalties for her inauguration hat (really now?)

By mzvirgo on  From mzvirgo.com
I didn’t see what the big deal was with Aretha’s hat and I still don’t get it now. Call me being out of touch with what is in, but Aretha did make a statement, good and bad. I wish Norman Blackwell was still alive to see this, because I’ll bet he would have said that this was the worst dressed.  I guess I’m not a fashionista because I was in no rush to order the hat and if I had it I wouldn’t know what to wear with it. Booze is my thing, hats are not. Aretha will always be the “Queen of Soul...Read Full Story

There are people who want to buy Aretha’s hat?

By mzvirgo on  From mzvirgo.com
(photo source) I don’t want you all to think that I wasn’t paying attention to Aretha’s pillbox hat. As a Virgo, I always have to point out the errors and try my best to correct them, whether they want to be corrected or not. I am a firm believer in wearing the outfit/accessories (hair included) and not letting the outfit/accessories wear you. In Aretha’s case, the hat, I think, damn near upstaged everyone. Queen or not, she should have known better. We were witnessing history in the making...Read Full Story
