Aretha Franklin Wears the Same Gold Dress --Two Days in a Row

Aretha Franklin recently violated a well known red carpet rule by wearing the exact same dress...two days in a row.
The Queen of Soul was spied on June 13th at the 64th Annual Tony Awards in a golden bronze creation with a sequined bodice and split hem.
She accessorized the look with a feathered boa and champagne Chanel bag.

On June 14th she attended Apollo Theater's Benefit Concert & Awards Ceremony in the exact same dress and accessories.
...though she did bother to switch out her wig.

With the current economy, most people can't afford to buy a new outfit for each high wattage event. Recycling garments is fiscally smart and responsible.
Dawn Richard of Diddy's group Dirty Money has been seen at different events in the same Herve Leger skirt and top.

Even our First Lady has been known to repeat cardigans and dresses for her many White House engagements.
But if you're a celebrity going to highly photographed events, shouldn't you at least space the repeat out over a few weeks? What do you think of Ms. Franklin's fashion transgressions?

REWIND: Of course it's a comfortable dress to travel in -- Mrs. O wore it on the campaign plane in August 2008 on the day her husband announced that then-Senator Joe Biden would be his running mate.

Obama wore this conservative but fun (the fabric is produced by a Hawaiian printing company) Tracy Feith dress to address the United Nations in New York City in May.
