Scottsdale, Arizona - Furnished Homes Spotlight

Scottsdale Sunset

Scottsdale, Arizona is in the “spotlight” at Furnished Homes this week.  This amazing desert city is adjacent to Phoenix and is considered to be one of the premier and upscale destinations for travelers today.

The city is loosely divided into four main areas: South Scottsdale (McKellips Road north to Chaparral Road), Old Town (Downtown) Scottsdale, Central Scottsdale (also known as the, “Shea Corridor”; extends from Chaparral Road north to Shea Boulevard), and North Scottsdale.  North Scottsdale is where some of the most expensive real estate and beautiful vacation rental homes in the United States can be found.

While Scottsdale is known for its affluent people and high rollers, the city is also known as “The West’s Most Western Town”.  Visitors can enjoy the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show that has been held since 1955.  At the show you can view nearly 2000 purebred Arabian and Half-Arabian horses compete.  Cowboys from all over gather in Scottsdale to take part in perhaps the most famous cowboy event and the world’s largest horse-drawn parade with over 150 entries each year -”The Scottsdale Jaycees Parada del Sol”.

Speaking of Horse Power - check out the Barrett-Jackson Auto Show in North Scottsdale every January.  You can see some of the rarest and most exotic cars from all over the world.

Golfers Paradise!  In 2006, the Robb Report cited Scottsdale as “America’s Best Place to Live for Golf.”  Scottsdale is home to more than 200 golf courses and the PGA FBR Open at the Tournament Players Club.

Shop til you drop!  Scottsdale has become a shopping destination.  There are many upscale and high-end specialty botiques and shops, including Tiffany and Co and Barneys New York.  Be sure to check out Scottsdale Fashion Square and Kierland Commons.

Night Owls - The New York Times named Scottsdale as one of the “hippest and most happening” places.  Many nightclubs and bars are located in Old Town near Old Town and Fifth Avenue and on some weekends the crowds can be nearly 40,000!

Where to stay in Scottsdale - a luxury vacation rental of course.  Look no further than the luxury accommodations offered by Scottsdale Vacation Rental Owners.  Check out many vacation rental listings of upscale and fully furnished homes at the Furnishedhomes.com.  Just type in Scottsdale, AZ into the search box and the map will show you all vacation rentals in Scottsdale.  You can contact the owners and managers directly.

Plan to visit Scottsdale for a few weeks or a even a couple of months.  There is so much to enjoy and you will want to drive to other exciting nearby destinations like Tucson, Tubac, Green Valley, Sedona, Prescott, Pinetop and The Grand Canyon.
