It takes all kinds, they say. That goes for lions too. The one on the left is carved from granite or some interesting stone and is part of a pair guarding the stairs leading to an imposing house on Côte Sainte Catherine Road. The picture on the top right is of a lion in concrete in front of a much more modest dwelling in Montreal's Plateau district. As Promised... here's what Ms. Merryweather and I made yesterday... We have normally been using red clay to create our Porcafamiliar, and having a little bit left over fashioned a small madDog necklace... which we popped into the oven along with the roast chicken!! It dried and cooled in no time. First I painted the entire thing with a layer of slightly watered down white gouche (find this in any art shop). Just recently I stumbled upon a great blog/website called I Kicked Cancer's @ss.
The gal who writes the blog, Meaghan, is also a cancer survivor and she came up with this great idea to hook up creative types with people going through cancer treatments. The creative types send the cancer warriors a piece of art work (like I'm doing) or a card or a small handmade gift of some sort. So I'm sending my person a print of Hope, pictured above.
