I suspect that I might have gout in my left knee. For the past two months I had been drinking 2 to 3 glasses of red wine daily, and recently I noticed that whenever I have to walk long distances, my knee joint starts to hurt. It’s not red, nor swollen, but when it starts hurting it is warm to the touch and the pain steadily gets worse the more I walk. My father suffers from gout for years now, he got on a very strict diet and avoid all high purines food, he also takes his medicines everyday. He hasn’t had the attack for months now but recently it started again. It saddened me seeing him in so much pain.

My doctor said by the blood test it’s not gout also from what I’ve read online my toes should be painful. My toes are fine.The other doctor ( a rheumatologist } said by the x rays it’s not rheumatoid arthritis and he thinks I have gout attacks , so is there anything else that could have the same systems?

My husband has debilitating GOUT pain in his foot. He’s a huge linebacker type guy, and can’t even walk. His job is door-to-door sales, and he’s in so much pain that he’s actually cried. I have NEVER EVER seen him cry from pain in 5 years! (This is a guy that goes paintballing SHIRTLESS…) What can I do? Are there any foods or anything that can help? He’s taking gout medicine, Vicodin, and tylenol, but NOTHING is helping.
