Vikings, Bucs Can’t Make a Deal

By kruise on  From footballnews-247.com
Filed under: Buccaneers , Vikings , Minnesota , Tampa Bay In need of a tailback now that Cadillac Williams is out for the season, the Bucs called the Vikings this week to see about trading for third-string tailback Mewelde Moore. The two teams tried to work out a deal, but the Vikings asked for a first-day pick (likely a third rounder) , which was too steep for the Bucs taste–they were offering a sixth-round pick. It’s smart for the Vikings to start out with a steep price, but if...Read Full Story

Redskins land Vikings free agent RG Artis Hicks

By Cartman on  From nflgridirongab.com
Artis Hicks has signed a three year deal with the Washington Redkins, marking the second day in a row that the Vikings lost a free agent to another team. The deal is reported to be worth about $9 million and Hicks will have a chance to compete for a starting spot at right guard. If the Vikings don’t sign any Unrestricted Free Agents this offseason (exluding restricted players or players who are cut) they may be in a position to recieve compensation draft picks for both Chester taylor and...Read Full Story

Herrera & Hicks at 100%

By Cartman on  From vikingsgab.com
Brad Childress created quite a buzz when he did a radio interview yesterday in which he finally acknowledged the Vikings pursuit of Brett Favre.   However, there were some non-Favre related tid bits to come out of that interview as well. One important comment made by the head coach was that offensive linemen Anthony Herrera and Artis Hicks are back up to 100% health after suffering injuries prior to OTA’s. Last year Herrera proved to be a very pleasant surprise as the starting right guard...Read Full Story

Who Is Left?

By Cartman on  From vikingsgab.com
Well, the first wave of free agency has come and gone without much change to the Vikings roster. Their signing of Kickoff Specialist Rhys Lloyd and the departures of Artis Hicks and Chester Taylor hardly signify major roster overhaul.  While significant, the lack of offseason activity has left many Vikings fans more eager than ever for this year’s NFL Draft. There is no doubt that pickings are slim right now as far as free agents go.  The Vikings may just be better off not signing anybody...Read Full Story

Sudden Question Marks In The Starting Lineup

By Cartman on  From vikingsgab.com
It is amazing what a loss can do to the morale of a fan base.  Childress mentioned in his presser on Monday that the mood in the locker room was more that of a 3-11 team rather than an 11-3 team.  Judging from how I feel, and from reading comments on this site and others, the fans are in a similar mood. Whether or not any real questions about the starting lineup exist in the minds of the coaching staff, I know fans have their fair share of questions.  Let’s take a minute to examine some...Read Full Story
