Do-it-yourself hobbyist marketplace Etsy has acquired ad platform operator Adtuitive for an undisclosed sum. In post on Etsy’s blog, the company says its decided to buy Adtuitive, which is currently in stealth-mode, to help the crafts site build out its search algorithms and expand Etsy’s Showcase ad system. Yesterday, we learned Etsy CEO Maria Thomas was out, to be replaced by co-founder and ex-CEO Rob Kalin. The reason appears to be that Etsy, which has devoted customer base and a stellar brand, wasn't growing and developing fast enough.
