At some point in our lives, if it hasn't happened already, you will know someone who has mesotheliomia. It is an asbestos-caused cancer of the membranes that surround many of the body’s vital organs. It is a terrible thing for someone to have to go through.
According to the OSHA website, "There is an estimated 1.3 million employees in construction and general industry face significant asbestos exposure on the job. Heaviest exposures occur in the construction industry, particularly during the removal of asbestos during renovation or demolition. Employees are also likely to be exposed during the manufacture of asbestos products (such as textiles, friction products, insulation, and other building materials) and during automotive brake and clutch repair work."
Thank goodness there are more regulations out there to try to control it so hopefully less chance of anyone getting mesothelioma . Knowledge is power. Keep you loved ones safe.
