Performances: Ashanti tributes Whitney, performs ‘The Woman You Love’ on GMA…
The former princess of Murder Inc did a commendable (partially pitchy) job of ‘I Have Nothing’ . To put it simply, Ashanti’s voice really isn’t tailor made to sing classic Whitney ballads. When you compare her rendition to technically trained vocalists, it comes across as okay-ish which would probably serve worthy enough to win $50 at a karaoke contest and not much else. The ‘Woman’ performance was cute though and oozed lots of confidence.
