Ashlee Nicole Simpson (born October 3, 1984) is an American pop rock singer–songwriter and actress, and the younger sister of pop singer Jessica Simpson. She starred on "The Ashlee Simpson Show," an MTV reality show that followed her rise to stardom. Her first album "Pieces of Me" went platinum, but her credibility as a performer took a huge hit when it became apparent she was lip-synching on SNL. Pete Doherty played a concert in Munich on Saturday at the On3 Festival. Given that Pete Doherty is a complete screw-up, his set went surprisingly well, actually. Ashlee Simpson made her Broadway debut last night in Chicago as Roxie Hart. She will remain in the play for a 10-week engagement that ends February 7th, 2010. All of her family was there to support her, husband, Pete Wentz , sister, Jessica Simpson , and dad, Joe Simpson .
