Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer will not be charged with any crime for patronizing a high-priced prostitution ring, federal prosecutors announced on Thursday. The announcement was made by the office of Michael J. Garcia, the United States attorney in Manhattan. Eliot Spitzer announced his resignation in March two days after The New York Times reported that he had been a customer of the Emperor’s Club V.I.P., a prostitution service that charged as much as $5,500 an hour. Mr. Garcia said in a statement that his office had found no evidence that Eliot Spitzer had used public money or campaign funds to pay for his encounters ... Read Full Story

Don’t ask me why, but I am still fascinated by the whole Eliot Spitzer-Ashley Dupré scandal from last year - it’s been more than a year and a half since it broke, and I’m still interested in hearing more about these people. Spitzer’s resignation, the whole ordeal only took a week. It was a really fun week, gossip-wise, but I’d still like to know more about all of the players, from Eliot Spitzer, to Silda Spitzer, to ... "I just don't want to be thought of as a monster...this has been a very difficult time. It is complicated."
- Ashley speaking with The New York Times

"My path has not been easy. When I was 17, I left home. It was my decision and I’ve never looked back. Left my hometown. Left a broken family. Left abuse. Left and learned what it was like to have everything, and lose it, again and again."
- Ashley on her MySpace page

"Learned what it was like to wake up one day and have the people you care about most gone. I have been alone. I have abused drugs. I have been broke and homeless. But, I survived, on my own."
- Ashley on her MySpace page

"I thought she always had a good personality, and she was a gorgeous, gorgeous girl. She was definitely flirty.  We all can't believe it down here that someone from here brought down the governor of New York."
- Former High School Classmate Chris Minardi, 23 (People)

"She never dated anyone in our school.  She was never slutty. She would date older guys, but it wasn't like she was running around sleeping with everyone."
