First trailer for The Last Airbender
Paramount Pictures has released the first actual trailer for The Last Airbender and Yahoo! Movies has it. The M. Night Shyamalan directed picture stars Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel, Jessica Jade Andres, Aasif Mandvi, Shaun Toub, Cliff Curtis and Keong Sim. The Last Airbender is based on a Nickelodoen animated TV series of the same name.
Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world.
The movie marks a depart from M. Night Shyamalan’s usual pretzel-like movies. The movie looks pretty nice visually and doesn’t look terrible on the whole. Not having ever watched the show I can’t offer an opinion on if it is a faithful adaptation or what have you. The Last Airbender is set for a July 2nd release.
