Waveform Distortion

Waveform distortion is defined as a steady-state deviation from an ideal sine wave of power frequency principally characterized by the spectral content of the deviation.
There are five primary types of waveform distortion:

■ Harmonics
■ Interharmonics
■ Notching
■ Noise
