Diary Of A Teen Self-Harmer.


Well First I want to reply to a comment on my previous post .
I was in the hospital toward the end of January.Since I have been out I have only cut twice.Not to bad either.Before that though I was really getting...well addicted to it.It kept me going.Im not saying it is a good habit at all but I think smoking kind of took the place of cutting.

I would go through a pack a day if I was really stressed.I cut and smoked for a while but when I got out of the hospital I relized that I didnt want to deal with more scares than I already have and didnt want to cut anymore.


Now that I have quit smoking (for now at least....its only been a couple of days since my last but Im hanging in :] haha)

I have more urges and smoking is probably healthier* for me just because cutting you have a greater risk of dying...although neither of them are healthy in any way.Sometimes you have to let things go and try to deal with the main issue I guess... ;)

There are many different things that people say to try, although I have never really found them to help ME but they could help you if you havnt tried them before...it would be a good idea to try them now.

1. Holding an ice cube in your hand



2. Make a mark with a pen or a red marker (whatever) in the place you would cut. (sometimes seeing the mark makes you feel better. It works for me every now and then)





3. Snapping a rubber band on your arm or wrist, Just wear one and if you have an urge then snap it. (worked the best for me)


4. Drawing, playing a game, writing, anything to keep your hands moving. I hope that you can find something that works for you. Good Luck and keep checking out the posts
