According to Wikipedia.org: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is thought to be a neurological disorder, always present from childhood, which manifests itself with symptoms such as hyperactivity, forgetfulness, poor impulse control, and distractibility. In neurological pathology, ADHD is currently considered to be a chronic syndrome for which no medical cure is available. ADHD is believed to affect between 3-5% of the United States population, including both children and adults.
Smokers with ADHD needed for UCI study
UC Irvine is seeking smokers who’ve been diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) for a clinical research trial that will take place over two days and pay $200 for people who complete the study.
The university says the “purpose of the study is to examine the effects of smoking and stimulant medication.”
To be eligible, participants must be 18 to 45 years old, diagnosed with ADHD and smoke at least 10 cigarettes a day. People wanting to know more should call Nuong Hong at 949-824-8216 or send an email to nhong@uci.edu
