Anyone Know about Stimulant Add/ADHD Drugs?

Answer by alrightythen
I have taken Adderall for like 14 years. I never lost weight, just maintained. But when I got off of it for a while, I quickly gained 26 pounds. Be careful. Your body gets used to it.

My son who is 17yr. old was diagnosed last Nov. & put on Vyvanse , yes, he lost a LOT of weight, he went from about 180 lb. down to 135 lb. He is 6 ft. tall. No it was not a good thing to lose that much weight everyone was beginning to think he was anorexic.(not kidding) As soon as he stopped taking it in April he gained back about 25 lb quickly I might add. Like in 2 weeks. They have him on Adderall now because the Vyvanse stopped working for him and had a lot of bad side effects for him. Such as angry, aggressive behavior, and he had a hard time sleeping without taking 400 mg. of Trazodone. Then he would not be able to wake up in the morning to go to work. I’m not saying that you will have the same side effects but you should at least be aware that they can happen. He graduated in April though and his grades went from 30′s -50′s to the lowest grade of 96 during a 20 week period. So that was a good effect that it had.

ADD is addressed in sections 22 – 25 of my website, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris I just checked it out at www.drugs.com and I strongly suggest that you do, as well. Also see www.rxlist.com & http://crazymeds.us www.askapatient.com

You are setting yourself up for addiction and withdrawal problems, with amphetamine related drugs! A number of alternatives are provided in ezy build: not based on medication (e.g. Omega 3: not quick to act: you can still lose weight using it: see section 56, at ezy build) or Strattera: see drugs.com etc. Seek a second opinion: your doctor may have close ties to the drug manufacturer: view section 1, at ezy build, and make an INFORMED DECISION on a very serious matter!
