It looks like the rebuilding plan is really in full motion now -- this afternoon, Aubrey Huff got traded to the Tigers. Here's the latest from Roch's blog: The Orioles have traded first baseman Aubrey Huff to the Detroit Tigers for Single-A pitcher Brett Jacobson, a 6 foot 6 reliever who was 1-3 with a 3.74 ERA in 35 games at Single-A Lakeland. Oswalt has been bothered by back and hip pain. The right-hander pitched five-plus innings in a no-decision at Cincinnati on Tuesday night and reported a different arm soreness than usual after the start. With the Astros out of contention, the team decided not to press the issue with the three-time All-Star. Oswalt went 8-6 with a 4.12 ERA in 30 starts this season. His eight wins were a career low. In a surprise move the Detroit Tigers have traded minor league pitcher Brett Jacobson to the Baltimore Orioles for 1B/3B/DH Aubrey Huff, according to a report from MLB.com Tigers beat writer Jason Beck. The left handed hitting Huff has played both corner infield positions as well as both corner outfield positions over his career, giving the Tigers needed flexibility from an experienced hitter. For the season Huff is hitting .253/.321/.405/.725 with 13 HR’s and 72 RBI’s. He has more runs batted in than any Tiger on the current roster this season.
