Coco Chanel Is Just Not That Into You
My weekend was all about fashion and dating ... on screen. I have watched two interesting movies that I'd like to share with you here (trailers included).
Lovely French actress, Audrey Tautou, slips into the gowns of French high fashion legend, Coco Chanel who traded a wedding band with a thimble, the time of a biopic. Supervised by high fashion living legend, Karl Lagarfeld, the movie promises to deliver. It depicts the life of Gabrielle Chanel, later nicknamed Coco, from her childhood at an orphanage to her provocative rise as a household name in the fashion world. However, if you find the movie online, don't download it! It's a mini film starring Barbora Bobulova as young Coco, and Shirley McLaine as older Coco. While the mini film is informative, I recommend the actual movie to Chanel lovers and Audrey Tautou fans, in theaters April 22nd.
He's Just Not That Into You is the movie that will either make you quit building castles on sand or stop listening to your friends. Either way, you'll be laughing at Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Affleck and Drew Barrymore satire a universal subject: desperation for the other to care, call and ... commit. At some point, you had itched for a call from a guy or a gal you liked. You have listened to your friends' subjective interpretation of the guy or gal's silence. And you have bitten your fingers with regret afterward, haven't you? The movie teaches you that in the dating pool, there are rules and exceptions: you are a rule if you never hear from him or her again; you are an exception if s/he calls back. Which one are you?
