Audrey Tautou may be earning rave reviews for her performance as Coco Chanel in Coco Before Chanel, but she doesn't have a fan in Chanel's head designer Karl Lagerfeld. Apparently Uncle Karl is miffed that Tautou snubbed the brand - although he might just be taking himself a little too seriously.

The issue at hand is Tautou's interview with French mag Premiere, in which she was asked whether she wears a lot of Chanel. Audrey, who is one of France's biggest stars, replied, "Sometimes. This morning, I wore the rain boots."

While it's unclear whether she delivered her line caked in French attitude, Lagerfeld is apparently unimpressed. According to WWD, Lagerfeld said, "I didn't even know we made rain boots. After that, I don't have to be nice," and quipped that he would have prefered Penélope Cruz in the role.
