A mega star/singer/songwriter of a notoriety that took her to the zenith of entertainment and show business, American recording artist Whitney Houston born in Newark, New Jersey (see: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/photos/a-community-mourns-the-loss-of-whitney-houston-20120212/worldwide-inspiration-0869111) was found unconscious on the 11 February 2012 at a Beverly Hills hotel where paramedics administered emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation, (CPR) whilst her body was in a state of arrest, pronouncing the female musician dead at 15:55 local time Saturday afternoon, a few short hours before being scheduled to attend the 54th Grammy Annual Awards in Los Angeles.
As information about the incident is gathered and trickled out by the mainstream news agencies, exiting the world aged 48, the celebrity has been attributed to using a prescribed clinical medicine carrying the brand name of Alprazolam, (see: http://www.rxlist.com/xanax-drug.htm), but whether these pharmaceutical preparations caused her demise is still not verified. The drug is taken to treat anxiety.
Transferred thereafter to a Los Angeles morgue for autopsy, a certain Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter speaking from a County coroner’s office is on record as saying:
“There will be no cause of death at this time. Because it is pending toxicology and that could take up to six to eight weeks. At this time her cause of death is deferred and we are finishing with all of our testing and it will be an on-going investigation.” - Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter
The procedure has since been completed.
