Vera Zvonareva to have right ankle surgery
Vera Zvonareva will have arthroscopic surgery on her right ankle to remove scar tissue. Her agent said that the operation is scheduled for Wednesday November 11th.
Zvonareva plans to stay in the Netherlands for two weeks of rehabilitation and is expected to be able to return to a tennis court in four to five weeks.
During the 2009 season Vera Zvonareva was a semifinalist at the Australian Open iand won two hard-court tournaments. She also played at the WTA Sony Ericsson tour championships but withdrew after playing one match.
