Autism and the MMR vaccine?
#1 finally here!
people mistake the fact that the two occur at the same time as a causal relationship.
autism simply presents at about the same age that the MMR vaccine is given. doesn’t mean it causes it.

1 Finally Here said it well. There is no shot in the world that will suddenly give someone autism. That is just stupid. The child either carries the gene that will surface at that time or not.

I personally don’t think there is a relationship between the two. If you look hard enough, you can correlate autism to a lot of things. I recall seeing an ‘expert’ on a TV show showing data that proved TV in and of itself contributed to autism. He had facts such as the increase in cases of autism and the increase of TV watching by under 2 were on the same growth curve in the past 20 years. He pointed out that the Amish community has never had a diagnoses of autism and they do not watch TV. He showed all kinds of brain wave patterns that were altered by the bright colors and lights on the TV and the fact that Autism presents itself after a child has been repeated exposed to TV over a 2 year period.
The thing was, it made perfect sense in his explanation and if I DIDN”T immediately see that that correlation could be drawn anywhere ( increase in pollution, in cell phone towers, in imported cars etc over the last 20 years)
I am no expert but I am more of a mind to believe there is a genetic disposition to it and a series of events or exposure to certain things trigger autism.
