Car of the Day - Aston Martin DB5 - James BondAston Martin and 007 - they will forever be linked in the hearts of millions Bond fans around the world. The childhood dream of many with the wealth to buy their dream is now up for sale. A 1964 Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger is to be auctioned by leading auction house RM Auctions. This example complete with all the original movie “additions”.
While you may be able to do a reasonable Conery accent, the likelihood of you being able to exude the same level of style is, we all know - near impossible.
The example on offer at RM is DB5/1486/R - Registered FMP 7B. Included are machine guns, bullet-proof shield, revolving number plates, tracking device, removable roof panel, oil slick sprayer, nail spreader and smoke screen - all controlled from factory installed toggles and switches hidden in the center arm-rest. Of the two movie cars and two promotional cars, FMP 7B is the most original.
Price - we will see - but with Coburn and McQueen Ferraris doing very well - a Connery Aston should be up there. The battle of the cool.
RM Auctions have it for sale at their 2010 Automobiles of London Sale.
