The current Buick Excelle is a top seller for Shanghai GM, its the cheapest model in the range of semi luxurious cars, in November alone the Excelle garnered sales of 22,200 sales in the Chinese marketplace.
The above 2010/2011 Buick Excelle is the first time that future sedan has been seen in China, and could indicate that the Excelle sedan will also carry the 1.6T engine to give the sedan a power punch.
The 1.6T version is quite powerful...
- LA 2009: Buick rendering teases new compact sedan (autoblog.com)
Last week at the Los Angeles Auto Show, General Motors gave us a sneak peek of its, as yet unnamed, baby Buick sedan through a teaser sketch. And while we've already shown you spy pictures of the new Buick, which is poised to take the role of the firm's new entry-level model in the North American market, the compact-sized saloon has been caught again, this time with less camouflage in China. The baby Buick is expected to be heavily based (if...

Since the end of the GNX era in 1987, many people have been wondering
if Buick will make a return to the sports car realm. While the Regal
GSX package paid homage to the glory days of the Grand National, it
just wasn't quite what we had hoped for. Now, it seems as though Buick
might again visit the high power turbocharged world with the
introduction of the Regal GS.

One of the most interesting reveals of the Los Angeles Auto Show has to be the 2011 Buick Regal. The new Regal is basically a rebadged version of the European-market Opel Insignia, just as the Saturn Aura was a rebadged Opel Vectra. Basically, all GM did to Buickize the car was slap on some Buick bling (badges, grille, and those stupid portholes).
But the Regal sure as hell looks great on paper: 182 horsepower 2.4 liter direct-injected four...

GM's large international operation and the popularity of Buick in China leads to some strange intercontinental platform sharing. We untangle part of the mess below. Currently, Buick is selling the Daewoo Lacetti-based Buick Excelle in China. Yes, this is the same car the Suzuki Forenza was based on. But this is getting replaced! Not by a Daewoo product, but rather by the Buick Ying Lang, which is going to be a rebadged Opel Astra likely built...

Our good ol' pal "Maximum" Bob Lutz told Car & Driver they're considering an Opel Insignia OPC-like 335 HP version of the Buick Regal that may be called the Regal GS. Oh, and possibly a sporty Buick Regal wagon! This isn't a huge surprise as they already make a wagon version of the Insignia in Europe, though it continues GM's interest in creating wagons. An interest we share. Can we please get a version based on the Vauxhall Insignia Sport...

Chevrolet Spark (Independent)The new Chevrolet Spark is an important new model for General Motors ? but not as important as it might have been. Until October this year, GM had planned to sell its European Opel and Vauxhall operations in order to shore up its precarious financial position. That would have left Chevrolet, the brand [...]
