A few years ago, RM Auctions arranged a private sale at the Ferrari factory to help the Maranello firm clear out some of their various race cars, prototypes and other motoring effluvia that had begun to clutter up the cavallino campus. The sale was so successful (and fun) that the auction house decided to do it again. And again. For this year's Leggenda e Passione event, they just picked up a vehicle that might have several of us calling Alitalia to check airfares. In cooperation with Sotheby's, the company will be auctioning off an ULTRA-RARE AND HUGELY VALUABLE LE MANS PODIUM-FINISH FERRARI 330 P4! ... Read Full Story

Ferrari captured ten victories in nineteen races from 1958 to 1961, including a class win at Le Mans with Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien. It's rare to see one offered for sale, and it is a guarantee that a massive sum of money will exchange hands when one comes on the market. Think this year's F1 season has been exciting? Truth be told it's been a refreshing change-up from the domination of the giants. But if anything, that just makes us more nostalgic for the clash of the titans that characterized past seasons. After a highly competitive 1989 season with both drivers at McLaren and Prost crowned champion, the Frenchman switched to Ferrari for 1990 to team up with Nigel Mansell. It was a dream team in Maranello, and the rivalry between Prost and Senna was intensified. By ... Read Full Story

Ferrari 599XX Prototype Picture Description The Ferrari 599XX, now in concept stage but nearing production as a special Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano high-performance variant, is perhaps more exciting than even the hallowed Ferrari Enzo in the track performance department. While the Ferrari Enzo earns the highest marks for exclusivity and sharp-creased style, the 599XX looks like a Ferrari is expected to but taken up about 7 notches. The Fiorano on which the bold new Ferrari 599XX track car is based is not the most expensive Prancing Pony, but it is certainly the most exciting large production model from a driver’s standpoint. Is the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE too tame for you? Ferrari is reportedly prepping a Ferrari 599 GTO combining 599xx-inspired looks, 700 HP and one classic name. The Ferrari 250 GTO is revered amongst the Maranello faithful, meaning any 599 carrying the name needs power, style, and at least the illusion of exclusivity.
