According to Ford Motor Company, sales of their newly redesigned crossover SUVs spiked 96 percent in September, 2007. The year to date sales are up fifty two percent. Sales of the Ford Edge and the Lincoln MKX have posted the highest sales numbers to date. Overall, the sales totaled 189,863 vehicles, which is down 21 percent compared to a year ago. the daily rental sales were down sixty two percent and sales to individual retail customers were down fifteen percent.
